THE STONES

Based on true events, this is a tour de force of physical theatre

Based on a true story, THE STONES is about risk taking behaviour and the pain of guilt when things go too far. Written by Tom Lycos and Stefo Nantsou (Zeal Theatre), this play has earned a worldwide reputation of being one of the most successful plays for young audiences.

THE STONES follows the story of two mates, aged 13 and 15 who are charged with manslaughter after throwing a rock off a freeway overpass and killing a driver. The productions uses physical theatre and epic theatre conventions, utilising only a ladder and two saw horses, to create a number of settings and tell a dynamic and powerful story.

Since its premiere in 1996 the show has been performed over 2000 times worldwide and translated in over 30 countries. Shock Therapy Arts are proud to be the only company in Australia to have the rights to perform THE STONES and to carry on the legacy of Zeal Theatre and this powerful production.

This award-winning play about youth crime and punishment continues to engage, enthral and excite audiences as Shock Therapy Arts puts their signature stamp on this timeless work.
